Cloudflare Unveils Zero Trust Tools to Secure AI at Scale

Cloudflare (NYSE: NET) has announced a new set of features for Cloudflare One, its Zero Trust platform, aimed at helping enterprises safely adopt generative AI applications. The tools give companies visibility and control over how AI is being used across teams — from marketing and finance to engineering — without forcing organizations to choose between security and innovation.
The launch comes as enterprises embrace generative AI at unprecedented speed, often without security safeguards. That raises risks ranging from employees pasting confidential data into chatbots to engineers deploying AI-powered apps without oversight. Cloudflare’s pitch: make AI security a built-in default, not an afterthought.
Key Features
Shadow AI Report: Security teams can detect which AI apps employees are using, and how.
Gateway AI Policies: Block or limit unapproved AI tools, and control what data flows into them.
AI Prompt Protection: Flag or block risky prompts (e.g., source code pasted into public models).
Zero Trust MCP Server Control: Consolidates and routes all MCP tool calls into a single dashboard for centralized policy enforcement.
Together, these features form what Cloudflare calls AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) — giving organizations the ability to embrace AI without losing oversight. Cloudfare's stock price rose by 138% in the last 12 months.
