TeamViewer, a global leader in remote connectivity and workplace digitalization solutions, has announced the launch of “TeamViewer Intelligence,” a new AI-driven platform aimed at automating and streamlining IT support workflows.

According to a press release published by the company, the offering is designed to reduce manual interventions and accelerate resolution times by embedding AI directly into service desk operations.

"With TeamViewer Intelligence, we're embedding AI directly into support workflows, so teams don't need to switch tools or break focus to get help," said Mei Dent, Chief Product & Technology Officer at TeamViewer. "Whether it's resolving a ticket or managing large-scale IT environments, we're enabling faster decisions and more scalable operations through intelligent assistance."

TeamViewer’s new platform includes TeamViewer CoPilot, a contextual AI assistant embedded in remote support sessions that allows IT agents to chat in real time to access device data, diagnose issues, generate workflows, and automate routine tasks—like opening Task Manager or pulling system logs—without breaking their flow. Complementing this, the solution’s Session Insights & Analytics feature automatically summarizes each session with smart tags and step-by-step resolution records, making handovers, reviews, and team knowledge sharing easier, while built-in dashboards provide visibility into metrics such as issue types, resolution times, and workload distribution to help IT teams identify recurring problems and continuously improve service quality.

Back in the 1980s, there was a running joke about “just put a clock in it” to make any product seem new. Today, it sometimes feels like we’re seeing the same with AI—slap a chat assistant into existing software so teams “don’t need to switch tools or break focus,” and call it intelligence.

TeamViewer is already a cherished tool for many IT managers, but it’s doubtful that most rely on it to manage their entire IT workflow—where AI would offer the biggest impact.

Meanwhile, TeamViewer’s stock (FRA: TMV) has been roughly flat for over three years, despite steady growth in earnings per share. Whether this new AI rollout moves the needle remains very much an open question.
