BigID has launched a new Model Context Protocol (MCP) server capability, according to their press release. The MCP is designed to let enterprises connect their governed data directly to AI tools like Copilot, Gemini, and Claude. The update enables employees to generate reports and insights conversationally without relying on specialized analysts or time-consuming dashboards.
Why It Matters
Most organizations struggle with data bottlenecks. Even with dashboards, exports, and BI tools, turning raw information into insights often requires specialized teams. As AI adoption accelerates, companies need ways to put governed data directly into AI workflows — without compromising security or compliance.
BigID’s MCP capability aims to solve that by enabling:
Faster reporting — seconds instead of days.
Plain-language access — ask questions via AI assistants with no training required.
Flexible connectivity — works across Gemini, Claude, Copilot, VS Code, CLI, and other MCP-enabled tools.
Governed insights — extend data access while retaining full security and privacy controls.
The CEO’s Pitch
“With our MCP server capability, we’re giving organizations a new way to unlock value from their BigID data,” said Dimitri Sirota, CEO of BigID. “It’s not just about faster reporting — it’s about enabling teams to interact with information in smarter, simpler ways, while building trust and accountability into every AI workflow.”
